The Dream Continues.…

In Honor of the late Mr. Otto Miller

FOUNDER OF PEOPLES BROADCAST NETWORK

WDJZ 1530AM - BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT

FORMER CEO/THE PRINCIPLE BROADCASTING NETWORK

WJDA/WESX-BOSTON, MA.

Otto Miller, a man with a vision was born in very humble beginnings on March 18th 1947 in New Rochelle, New York. Despite this social condition, he was able to put himself through school and college by winning a series of scholarships, which were a blessing to him in those days.

He later served in the military as a navy seal. His interest in sales came to light as his interest in people grew. He started earnestly in radio sales at WVOX/WRTN in his home town of New Rochelle, New York. He acquired the skills in radio sales by trial and error coupled with his creative instincts.

Later he was able to expand his abilities in radio sales to the New York City radio market, the MECCA of media in the U.S. he worked at stations such as WNEW and WMCA where our paths crossed for the first time. He came to WMCA as the sales director and was able to increase the billing significantly with his principles of a focused work ethic.

He continued his progress in radio sales in Philadelphia. He later had a life changing experience, after being involved in a serious car accident which left him unscathed. Realizing this miracle, he turned to his spiritual side and developed a relationship with Christ. This brought a new meaning, awareness and purpose to his life. However, he was sought after by a variety of radio stations which included WNWK where he became the general manager of New York City’s most prominent multicultural leased time radio station.

In this capacity he was the first ever in the history of radio broadcasting sales, to achieve a top market share in the afternoon drive using the multicultural leased time format. This was considered to be a tremendous feat in those days. This achievement was reflected in the fact that WNWK’S value increased exponentially from a purchase price of $15 million and was later sold for $150 million. This in large measure was a testament of Otto Miller’s keen and focused approach to his purpose, a method that brought him success as consistently being ranked at the top in billing in sales in the New York City radio market.

Otto Miller went on to explore his new found mission by establishing his own company, freedom broadcast network with the purpose of providing a voice for those marginalized from the airwaves. On his way towards fulfilling his mission of providing a voice for the righteous at heart, he purchased and developed stations in Georgia and Texas among others. In 2000 Otto Miller started Peoples Broadcast Network in which he developed stations in Maryland, Louisiana and Bridgeport, Connecticut’s “home of true gospel praise” WDJZ 1530AM.

Up until his untimely passing on May 19th 2007, he partnered with mercury capital and created a new company, The Principle Broadcasting Network which now includes radio stations in Massachusetts, Texas and New York. His mission of providing a voice for the voiceless, the least among us, is in itself a success story and in particular to the Christian communities in these areas, where his genious and passion has sparked a light of hope for people everywhere.

He leaves his wife Maria and daughter Brittany as well as the large fraternity of radio broadcasters. May his soul rest in peace, as his work continues to shine with excellence in the light of eternity.

        In One Service,

       Thank You
